Mini Haul!

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all doing well.

I went to Meadowhall the other day in search of jeans! You won't know (because I haven't mentioned it - durr) but I am 6 foot tall. As you can imagine, or will know if you're also a tall lady, it can be pretty hard to get trousers to fit your height! You usually end up with half mast trousers that you have to wear boots with so no one knows they're actually in the middle of your calf!
I am a 367" leg and most tall ranges in shops sell a 34".. too short! New Look used to have a tall range in store which has now moved to online only. This is SO annoying as I really hate buying without trying. Topshop are one of the only shops I can find a decent tall range in store and luckily Topshop jeans are fab!

Anyway... I went.. and the store was closed for refurbishment! How frustrating! Waste of a shopping trip?? Nope! I bought a couple of makeup bits instead!

Top left to right: Cotton pads, Bobbi Brown Lipstick, Vitamin E Night Cream, Micellar Water and Makeup Revolution Blush Palette

Cotton Pads and Garnier Micellar Water

The boots cotton pads are the ones I always turn too as they don't fluff up when used - I hate that! I use the double sided ones which are ideal for removing makeup, applying moisturiser, taking off nail polish etc! I use these in conjunction with the Micellar water to take off my makeup on a night. This was just a stock up as the cotton pads were buy one and get one half price.

Superdrug Vitamin E Night Cream (for some reason the night cream is not available online so I have linked the daycream for you).

I rarely use a night cream. I have oily skin and the majority of my moisturisers double up for morning and evening. Recently however, with the cold weather I feel that my skin just needs a bit more moisture through the night. I can't wear anything heavier through the day as my skin would get too oily for makeup, but can get away with something heavier for night time. So I thought I'd give this simple, moisturising cream a go. It smells lovely and is really thick. I've used it for 3 nights and so far it's really lovely to use! It soaks in well and hasn't caused any breakouts which is a must for me as I have sensitive skin that can react easily to products.

Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Sugar & Spice

I've wanted to try one of these palettes since seeing Miss Budget Beauty mention one a few times in her Youtube videos and on her blog. They are super cheap at £6.00 for 8 different blush colours and they have a selection of palettes to suit the individual. I went for this one as it has a lot of pinky shades which I love - especially at this time of year when I want a natural flush of colour. It has 2 really pretty shimmery shades, one that shows pinky and glowy and the other is a great highlight colour and looks beautiful over one of the blush colours. I've used it every day since purchasing. The colours are really pigmented and fairly easy to blend. I will definitely be trying more from this range now.

Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Colour in Desert Rose

I originally went looking in Mac for a new lipstick and wanted to pick up the shade 'Faux'. It was sold out as it has been super popular lately so I decided to try Bobbi Brown instead and see if I could find I similar type of colour. I've never tried Bobbi Brown lipsticks before but so far I really like it. It's creamy, lasts a decent amount of time considering it's not completely matte, and feels very comfortable to wear.
Both pictures are taken with flash as lighting was rubbish by this time! But you can see how creamy it is on the swatch and is a lovely everyday shade and very wearable. It can also be made to look deeper and more purpley if you do a couple of layers of it.

I also have a great dupe for this shade so keep watching for that post which will be up soon!

That's all from my mini haul! I have a little Avon haul coming up, plus a dupe for the Bobbi Brown lipstick!

Face of the Day and Hair Change HELP!?

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all doing okay since my last post!

This post is my Face of the Day I wore the other day on a little shopping trip! It's also a bit of a post to ask you what you think of my hair now, and my decision on what next?

Face of the Day

I apologise for the awful quality -p lighting past 3pm in the UK is absolutely pants!
Base: Bobbi Brown BB Cream in Light
Powder: Lancome Teint Miracle Compact in 01 Beige Albatre
Contour: SEVENTEEN Define and Conquer Contour Kit in Fair
Cheeks: No7 Natural Blush Tint Powder in Coral Flush
Eyebrows: Rimmel Brow this Way Styling Gel in Mid Brown
Eyes: Maybelline Eye Studio Colour Tattoo 24 Hour Leather Effect in Creamy Beige
Eyeliner: Rimmel London Exaggerate Liner in Black
Mascara: Soap & Glory Thick & Fast HD Mascara
Lips: Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in 03

So onto hair...

I've had the above style for a while now after getting it to the length it is at I decided I wanted to do an ombre-esque thing with it. Although I wanted it slightly different and much icier and blonder on the ends!

I absolutely love it and it's meant that the part of me that feels a need to change my hair and cut it off all of the time has managed to stay away! I've done really well as this was grown out from a pixie cut I had a couple of years ago! Before then, I had my hair tomato red for about 3-4 years and after trying to home strip it to get it brighter straight after removing weave extensions (I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS!!) my hair was pretty poop and chewing gum like! So.. I made the big chop!

Anyway.. I absolutely love this blonde look so when I go to the hairdressers I usually just have it topped up and lightened again to maintain the icy blonde and to lighten the rest of the highlights. However, my last trip he mentioned that I should consider going blonde! Not something I have EVER thought of doing fully as I'm so dark featured and I really don't think I could pull it off. Plus I'm lazy and the maintenance would drive me NUTS!

That got me thinking though that I'd love to be braver and go lighter further up! Then I saw Barbara (The Persian Babe) on YouTube recently and her hair looks amazing (in my opinion)! She's so dark but those roots just means that icy blonde suits her so well and she's kept her darkness at the top to tie everything in! Plus then, no worry about laziness with regrowth!!

So the question is - do you guys think I should go for it??

I'd love to hear what you all think!

Penguin bubbles, cocoa butter and pink fizz!

Hi everyone!!
I hope you're all doing well!

I have another LUSH update for you after finishing 3 more products - I only have 2 left now!

The Christmas Penguin!

This is lovely and I got several uses out of this with it being a bubble bar! They create the most amazing bubbles and a little definitely goes a long way. I love to get my money (or my mum's in this case as it was a Christmas present) worth from these and break little chunks off to crumble under a running tap.
It had a gorgeous sweet scent, not unlike many other Lush products - Orange flower and bergamot with Sicilian mandarin and lemon oils.
It is no longer available now Christmas is over but definitely worth a try next Christmas if they bring it back!

Butterbear Bath Bomb

I loved this! It's basically the classic Butterball bath bomb in the shape of a bear!
If you're not familiar with the Butterball, it's a great one for dry or sensitive skin or just for those who want to feel like your bath bomb does more than fizz and make pretty colours.
It contains pieces of cocoa butter - LOTS of them - which melt into the water as it fizzes away. The residue left is super moisturising and leaves your skin really soft and has that lovely feel of using a body oil but without the hassle!
The bath bomb also contains ylang ylang oil which is lovely and sweet and used in aromatherapy - apparently to treat stress, depression and relaxes the nervous system, according to the Lush website.
You can purchase the Butterball here.

The Luxury Lush Pud

Firstly, this bath bomb looks so cute and festive!! I wish I had used this between Christmas and New Year as it's so special!
Containing lavender oil, sweet benzoin and tonka absolute the smell when you drop this into your bath is super strong, sweet and relaxing!
According the the Lush website, this (no longer available) is the same scent as their all round seller Twilight - found here

You don't need me to tell you how amazing this looks when it starts dissolving either! This is where the magic lies - aside from that amazing scent!
The spots of colour you see on the ball start swirling into separate colours of blue, yellow, orange - and the ball itself dissolves into the most amazing pink that turns the whole bath that colour! The foam is thick and creamy and once the excitement of that is over and the water settles there's shimmer!!
I had no idea and realised when I moved my leg out of the water! Loved it!!!

Only two left - update soon!

A LUSH Christmas

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all okay.

This Christmas I got a huge goody bag full of Lush products from my mum! What a lucky girl I am!

I LOVE Lush products, but can never justify buying them regularly.
My mum knows how much I love taking baths, especially at this time of year. She also knows my taste VERY well and picked out a variety of gorgeous products! There is not one that I don't love the smell of and I'm super excited to try them all out as I haven't used any of these before.

I will make a post for each one once I've used it and let you know what it's like.

The first I've used is called Think Pink. It's described on the Lush website as a 'relaxing pink bath bomb with a sweet vanilla and tonka fragrance'. Apparently you'll feel as though you're getting 'a big hug and find yourself surrounded in rice paper confetti hearts'. The vanilla fragrance is from vanilla absolute which is Fair Trade and the Tonka adds a caramel undertone. It also contains Neroli for a citrus top note and Lavender to clear your mind.

I love the look of the bath bomb. It's right up my flowery alley!! Look at it! So pretty!

It made my bath a gorgeous pink shade and the scent was beautiful and really strong - which I love. I hate having a nice scent that disappears as soon as it's in the water.

The hearts were a surprise to me as I hadn't read the website's description and the label doesn't mention them. They were super fun and cute and I really enjoyed seeing them float through the water when I moved my legs. Plus there are a few left today and look so pretty!

Overall, a very lush Lush bath!

Pastel Pink - Toner

Hi everyone!
I hope you're all okay.
As promised, I said I would do a post after using the Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes toning shampoo in the bath and let you know the results.

Well, it worked! I've had beautiful, subtle pink ends for the day and I've really liked the results.
The shampoo is gentle on the hair, unlike my other toning shampoo by Matrix
I left the shampoo sat on my hair for about 30 minutes whilst in the bath and applied an extra bit to the very ends after around 15 minutes.
My hair didn't feel dry and straw-like which was great!

In all honesty, I didn't think it had made much of an effect on my hair as I blow dried it, but it was evening and lighting isn't the best!
This morning I was pleasantly surprised when I sat in my car, glanced in the mirror and saw a subtle pink! The strands that haven't taken to the pink colouring have really lifted and gone a really icy blonde which is just what I want when not trying to get the colour!

I've got a quick post for a Face of the Day. I wore this the other day and really liked it so I thought I'd share it with you guys.

Unfortunately lighting in the UK at the moment isn't the best as you probably know if you're here so I had to do my best with the natural lighting I had.

Mini Post-Christmas Haul

Hi everyone!!

Firstly, I hope everyone had an AMAZING Christmas, ate lots, drank lots and just had a super time!!
I had a lovely quiet Christmas. I had 2 days off which meant quality time with my own pets, my OH and my mum! We had a scrummy dinner at her house and took our two puggies wit hus which made a total of 5 dogs at her house!

I'm planning a 'What I Got for Christmas' post in the next week. This is by no means to brag, far from it! It's more that I know how much we all like to be nosy and I absolutely love watching YouTube videos and reading other blog posts on what people received!

This post is just a mini haul I did yesterday when I popped into town to Boots and Superdrug. I originally went in to go and purchase the Sensationail Deluxe Starter Kit (mentioned in several of FleurDeForce's YouTube videos) as it has been marked down from £110.00 to £55.00!!
Disappointing fact is they've completely sold out - the obvious thing to do was spend the money I had for that on other items I didn't need!

First items : Haircare!

Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes Shampoo - 250ml

(£6.99 or 3 for £15 on Lee Stafford haircare in Boots)

I bought this to use in place of a toning shampoo I have by Matrix as I find that particular product very drying on my hair. I know toners aren't supposed to be conditioning but this one leaves my hair like straw!! I saw Miss Budget Beauty mention this product in a recent blog post (can be read here) which mentioned how she had achieved a lavender shade to her hair just through toning. I liked the idea of this shade rather than the bluish shade you can end up with with some very blue/purple toners. I also thought I could achieve a better blonde with something if it does visibly change to such a pinky tone after left on the hair a long time! First impressions are fab. I used the items this morning in the shower - only left on  a couple of minutes and applied twice, but my ends are definitely whiter blonde. It also felt very silky - none of the straw-like feeling I get with my other toner. I'm looking forward to testing this in the bath when I can leave it sat for 10-20 minutes!

TRESemme Heat Defence styling Spray - 300ml

(£4.00 in Boots)
I have a lot of heat defence products in my collection, but the majority are ones that you use prior to blowdrying such as creams, gels, sprays. However, I wanted an item that I have the option of using when my hair is dry as extra protection before using my straighteners or curling irons and that wasn't going to be too heavy or greasy. We shall see what this is like!

COLAB Dry Shampoo in PARIS - 200ml

(£3.49 in Superdrug)
As most of you will know, this is the dry shampoo by Ruth Crilly - or 'A Model Recommends' on YouTube. I love dry shampoo and use it the day after washing my hair to save washing daily. I haven't tried this product yet but it has been on list since the launch. The fragrances are lovely - no powdery after smell like some dry shampoos have, particularly Batiste. As much as I love Batiste, I hate the scents as I find them so powdery and heavy! These however, are light, fresh and a good mixture for everyone. (Floral, fruity, classic and fresh). I picked up Paris which is described as 'An enchanting floral bouquet of jasmine & rose with a touch of patchouli'. I usually prefer sweet and fruity but this scent is lovely and I'm looking forward to using it.

 Next up: Beauty

Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Afternoon Tea and Aurora

(£6.99 in Superdrug)
I'm sure everyone knows by now about Tanya Burr's new cosmetics line. I wasn't overly excited but wanted to test them as there are a nice range of colours for the glosses so I thought I'd try a couple. The colours I decided on are the sort of everyday colours you can slap on when you don't want to make much effort with lipstick, but they're also equally nice for over a similar lipstick shade for a bit of shine and moisture.
I've been wearing a lot of matte, bold lips over the last month and my lips are so dry - especially with me being out in the cold everyday. Lipglosses just give your lips a bit of a break!
Aurora is the darker shade and I have worn it today. It's a lovely shade and the lipgloss itself is very nice. Very sticky but I like that in a lipgloss as it gives it a bit more staying power! They also have a lovely sweet scent, but without the nasty artificial taste you find with some.

Eyelure Pro-Lash Individuals

(£5.35 in Superdrug)
I've never actually used individuals before as I always assumed they'd be harder to apply than strip lashes. Apparently that isn't the case so I thought I'd give them a go. You get short, medium and long length individuals in this set so you can create the look you want. You also get the adhesive and a remover - they claim to be long-lasting so I guess the remover is needed - possibly!
I'm quite excited to give them a go!

That's all for my little haul!

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!
